FAQ
Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions!
If there is anything else that we can assist with, click the link at the bottom.
1. Why should I Bring my child to SH KIDS Ministry?
SH Kids is more than childcare; it’s a place where your child will grow in their faith, make friends, and have a blast doing it. We create fun, safe, and engaging environments where kids learn about Jesus in age-appropriate ways through stories, worship, games, and hands-on activities. Every week is designed to help kids know God’s love and build a faith that sticks.
2. What if my child has allergies?
We take allergies seriously at SH Kids. When you register your child in Kids Check, their profile is updated with the allergies you list. For preschoolers, if snacks are served, we do our best to provide allergy free options and our volunteers take special note of the Kids’ check printed name badges which list any allergies or medical needs. You are always welcome to send a clearly labeled snack for your child.
3. What if my child needs me during the service?
If your child needs you for any reason during the service we will send you a text message using the phone number you provided at check in. Please keep your phone on vibrate but accessible during the service so we can reach you when needed. Your child’s comfort and safety is our top priority.
4. What should my kids wear?
Sunday mornings at Southern Hills will be the best hour of your kids' week! They will be singing, jumping, dancing, playing games, and sometimes climbing through our bounce house all while learning about Jesus, so play clothes are always a great choice!
5. Is SH Kids safe?
Absolutely. Your child’s safety is our priority. All volunteers are background
checked, trained, and never serve alone with children. We use a secure
checkin/checkout system through Kid Check to ensure that only approved
adults can pick up your child. Our hallways are monitored during service,
and we have security and medical team members on site each Sunday.
Each classroom has a hallway facing window, so you are always
welcome to take a peek and see how things are going. We want
you to enjoy service knowing that your child is in a safe and
secure environment.
