Caring nursery workers are ready to serve you & your family in our safe, clean environments for babies (0-11 months) and toddlers (ages 1 & 2). Parenting is a full-time job, and we are here to
support, encourage, and pray for you and your little one. Stop by today to tour the nursery and receive a fun, free gift!

Be sure to arrive early to check your kids in and drop them off in their environments before the service starts. (In order to check your child in for the first time, you’ll need to set up a KidCheck account using "Southern Hills Las Vegas" as your location. Feel free to set one up in advance to save time, or we can help you when you arrive!)
When you get to Southern Hills, one of our greeters can point you toward the SH Kids check-in area in the lobby of our Next Gen Building. Make sure you visit one of the designated “first-time” check-in stations so a volunteer can assist you through the check-in and drop-off process and your child can receive their First-time SH Kids gift.
Your First Visit
What Our Infants & Toddlers Are Learning
Your little one will receive intentional teaching about God every time they enter the nursery. As your child’s brain develops new pathways to learning, our goal is to link that learning to God and His truth. From the first time your small child enters the nursery, we pray Scripture passages aloud to God on their behalf. So, your little one is not only being prayed for, but is hearing God’s Word as well. What will God do in the life of your child because of the prayers of parents and caregivers?
Babies and toddlers receive lots of loving care and attention in the Southern Hills nursery. A wide assortment of age-appropriate toys, games, books, music, and puzzles give children an opportunity to interact with their caregivers and little friends, enjoy purposeful play, and develop their motor skills.

Southern Hills Nursery FAQ
You can find more answers to Frequently Asked Questions on our Main Kid's Page, but here are a few especially for our smallest guests and their parents:
1. I'm worried my child will be upset. What Can I expect? If you’re concerned about your children becoming upset when you leave them, the caregivers will work with you to find the best way to comfort them. In most cases, crying stops a few moments after parents leave and fussing becomes less common with regular attendance. If a child continues to cry after five or ten minutes, we contact the parents using their cellphone.

2. What extra safety protocols are in Place for the Nursery?
Southern Hills takes our responsibility to provide a safe and secure environment for children very seriously. We have implemented safety and security policies that include:
-
An electronic check-in and sticker verification system for all childcare and classes
-
Only female volunteers in this department
-
Background checks and an internal vetting process for all adult volunteers
-
Application & internal vetting process for all teen volunteers
-
A health policy that asks parents to keep children with symptoms of illness home
-
Regular hand washing among leaders and children and disinfecting of classrooms and facilities
-
A teacher-to-child ratio of 5:1 in toddler classes and 3:1 in nursery classes
3. What Should I Bring?
We have a nursery stocked with all that your child will need for a great Sunday, but here are some extra ideas our SHC moms have recommended be kept in diaper bags:
• Two or more disposable diapers
• Pacifier or other items for comfort
• A change of clothes in the event of an accident
• Any necessary bottles or snacks (no nuts please!)
• Please be sure to label all items!
