AARON AND NICOLE SHIPE
Although still young, the Shipe family – all nine of them – are now Tanzanian veterans! Certainly there are always things to be learned about a language and culture, but the larger Shipe family fits into African culture beautifully, and that is important.
Reaching into the Datooga culture is not easy. The language and customs are not really known by those outside the tribe, and many within the tribe seem to like it that way! The Datooga are (historically) nomadic and somewhat resistant to the Gospel. Yet the Shipes are making an inroad, and have a preaching point/nascent church underway not too far from their present home in the city of Babati. Pray for them!
